I (Dr. Abhishek Singh Chauhan) have 4 years and 4 months of research experience as a Bioinformatician or Computational Biologist. Presently, I am working as an Assistant Professor in the Biotechnology Department of MGIMT (AKTU Affiliated) Institute, Lucknow. I have completed my Ph.D. from CSIR – National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. The topic of my thesis is “VetiverDB: Transcriptome database of two Chrysopogon zizanioides morphotypes”.

The “Identification and validation of reference genes in vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) root transcriptome” is my thesis paper. I have learned and practiced more during my research work. I am grateful to my guide (Dr. Debasis Chakrabarty) and Co-guide (Dr. Puneet Singh Chauhan) for their valuable time and support. I joined CSIR-NBRI as a Senior Project Fellow in September 2013 on a root biology project with Dr. Puneet Singh Chauhan. It was a CSIR-NBRI Director project. I learned more during the project. I handled the Next-generation sequencing data of the plants. I registered as a Ph.D. student in January 2017. I completed my Ph.D. in October 2023. It was a great experience and not forgettable.

I also have proteomics research experience. I have eight months of research experience as Junior Research Fellow under the DST project in Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida. The mentor of the project is Dr. Shakti Sahi. There, I have used the Schrodinger and Amber software.

I published 14 research articles under Dr. Debasis Chakrabarty sir's guidance. I learned the technical skills of Bioinformatics under his guidance. I performed research work in plant systems. My research ideas are focused on the bioinformatics approaches to transcriptome. I developed the Vetiver transcriptome database and website. My exposure to bioinformatics started with B. Tech. I have done my B. Tech. from Amity University. During B. Tech., I have done three summer training on bioinformatics. I have developed the Bionoteopad in Visual Basic. I have done my M. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad. The M. Tech. thesis was on “ADME prediction by Statistical learning”. I earned a doctorate in Biological science. I want to make my career in Research and development. I am two times GATE qualified in Biotechnology.
